Qualified Dispenser

Long Stratton Medical Centre in Norwich, are looking to welcome a permanent qualified dispenser into our busy practice on a part-time basis, working 24 hours per week across 4 days (6 hour shifts). Salary will rise to £12.81 per hour on completion of probationary period.

This full and active role within the practice will be responsible for processing all relevant prescriptions as authorised by GPs and prescribing nurses where appropriate, in accordance with the principles of good practice. You will provide an efficient and accurate dispensing service with minimum supervision and to ensure a high quality safe service to patients.

The main responsibilities of the role include:

  • Process patient acute and repeat medication requests.
  • Ensure the correct labelling of drugs and medicines.
  • Dispense checked drugs and medications to patients.
  • Ensure that all medicines and appliances dispensed are checked against the prescription.
  • Collect all due prescription charges and ensure that the patient declaration on the reverse of the FP10 is duly filled in and signed by the patient.
  • Endorse all prescription forms as appropriate, collate and forward the forms in a secure manner to the PPA for processing and reimbursement. 
  • Notify the GP of any FP10 returns/feedback.
